Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Wulo Technologies Ltd.
The one thing to understand
Wulo is a place where buyers and sellers find each other. We are not the seller. When you buy something, your contract is with the shop, not with us — they own the goods, they set the price, they take the payment, and they deliver it. Everything below follows from that.
On this page
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating a Wulo account or using the apps you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use Wulo. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
These terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
2. What Wulo is and isn't
Wulo is a marketplace that shows buyers what sellers near them have available, and gives the two sides a way to communicate, transact and track an order.
Wulo does not:
- Own, stock, inspect or handle any of the goods listed.
- Employ the sellers. Every seller is an independent business.
- Process payments or hold your money. Payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller.
- Provide couriers. Sellers deliver their own orders.
- Guarantee that any item is authentic, of satisfactory quality, legal to sell, or as described. That responsibility sits with the seller.
We do take reasonable steps to keep the marketplace decent — new sellers are reviewed before their listings appear, listings can be removed, and accounts can be suspended. Those steps are not a guarantee about any individual seller or item.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details when registering, and keep them current. A wrong phone number or address mostly harms you.
- Your account is yours alone. Do not share your password or let someone else trade under your name.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at once at support@wulo.app if you think someone else has access.
- One person or business, one account, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- You can browse without an account. Ordering, pinging, rating and selling all require one.
4. If you buy
- Your contract is with the seller. Placing an order is an offer to buy from that shop, which they may accept or decline.
- Cancelling. You may cancel an order yourself within 30 minutes of placing it, provided the seller has not yet accepted it. After acceptance, the seller may already have committed time and stock, so cancellation is a matter to agree with them.
- Paying. You pay the seller directly on the terms you agree with them. Never send payment details through a ping, and treat any request for card or bank credentials inside the app as fraudulent — we will never ask for them.
- Receiving. Confirm receipt in the app once you have the goods. Confirming is your record that the order completed.
- Rating honestly. Rate based on your actual experience. Ratings used to extort a seller, or bought and sold, will be removed.
- Problems. Raise them with the seller first — most are misunderstandings. If that fails, contact us and we will look into it, though see section 9 on the limits of what we can do.
5. If you sell
- You may only list goods you actually have and are legally entitled to sell. Listings must accurately describe the item, and photographs must be of the item you are selling.
- Keep your shelf honest. When something is out of stock, take the listing down. Leaving sold-out items live wastes buyers' time and damages the marketplace for every other seller.
- Set a delivery range you can genuinely service, and honour it. Accepting orders you cannot fulfil is a breach of these terms.
- Price in full. The price shown should be the price charged. Tell the buyer any delivery charge before they commit, not on the doorstep.
- Deliver what was ordered, in reasonable time, and keep the buyer informed through the order statuses.
- You are responsible for your own compliance — business registration, tax, and any licence your goods require. Wulo is not your employer and does not withhold or remit tax for you.
- Answer pings. A buyer asking a question before ordering is doing you a favour.
6. What you may not do
On Wulo, you must not:
- List anything illegal in Nigeria — including drugs, weapons, stolen goods, protected wildlife, counterfeits, or prescription medicines.
- List anything you do not have, do not own, or cannot deliver.
- Misrepresent an item, its condition, its origin or its price.
- Use Wulo to harass, threaten, defraud, or abuse anyone.
- Send spam or unsolicited advertising through pings.
- Create fake accounts, fake orders, or fake ratings, or manipulate ratings in any way.
- Attempt to move a transaction off-platform in order to evade these terms or a seller review.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to Wulo's systems.
- Upload anything containing malware, or any content you do not have the right to use.
7. Your content
The photographs, descriptions, messages and ratings you upload remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them.
By uploading, you grant Wulo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the marketplace — showing your listing to nearby buyers, for instance. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups until they age out.
You confirm you have the right to everything you upload. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law, and we may do so without notice where the breach is serious.
8. Sponsored placement and verification
Sellers may pay to have a listing appear more prominently in nearby feeds. Where they have, the listing is always visibly labelled as sponsored. We do not disguise paid placement as an organic result.
The verified tick is separate and cannot be purchased. It means only that we have confirmed a real physical business behind the account. It is not an endorsement of the goods, a quality guarantee, or a promise about any particular transaction, and we may remove it at any time.
9. Disputes between users
Because your contract is with the seller, disputes about goods, price, delivery or refunds are between you and them in the first instance.
We will help where we reasonably can: we can look at order records, contact either party, remove listings, and suspend accounts that behave badly. What we cannot do is issue a refund, since we never held the money, or compel a seller to act.
Report problems to support@wulo.app with the order number. Patterns matter — repeated complaints about a seller lead to removal even where we cannot resolve an individual case.
10. Availability
We try to keep Wulo running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. Orders left open at the end of a trading day are closed automatically.
11. Our liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, and because we are a marketplace rather than the seller:
- We are not liable for the goods — their quality, safety, legality, authenticity, or whether they match the listing.
- We are not liable for the conduct of any buyer or seller, on or off the platform.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost sales, or lost data.
- Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to any fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. For most users that is zero, because Wulo is free to use.
The apps are provided "as is" to the extent the law allows.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Wulo whenever you like and delete your account from the app or from this website.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or where we are legally required to. Where it is practical and appropriate we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Serious cases — fraud, illegal goods, threats to another user's safety — get acted on immediately.
Sections 7 (your content), 9 (disputes), 11 (liability) and 14 (governing law) survive termination.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Wulo after that means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, delete your account.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here removes a consumer protection you have under Nigerian law that cannot be contracted out of.
